Tiffany Larson, Writing Coach

Preparing to apply to college is exciting and also daunting. For many students, the hardest part isn't choosing something to write about for their college essay; it's figuring out how to turn their experiences into an essay that feels genuinely theirs. With the right guidance and structure, the college essay doesn't have to be a source of stress.

Why Work With Tiffany Larson?

  • 21 years teaching writing and English to high school students, helping  students with all ability levels develop ideas, find their voices and become confident writers.

  • My students have gone on to universities including Yale, Princeton and UC Davis

  • Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching recipient, selected through a highly competitive process to conduct research at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland.

  • Experience reading and evaluating Fulbright applications, giving me firsthand experience assessing personal statements from applicants competing for a highly selective international program.

  • Master's degree in Literature, with extensive training in writing, rhetoric, close reading and the careful use of language.

  • A teacher, not a ghostwriter. I teach students how to tell their own stories effectively. My goal is to help each student produce writing that is thoughtful, polished and authentically their own.

Families can feel confident knowing that their student is working with an experienced educator who understands both how to teach young writers and how to help them present themselves through their writing. My goal is not simply to help a student complete a college essay; it is to help them produce writing that is recognizably their own.
